Privacy Policy

Effective October 3, 2026

FamSync is a family organizer made by Pixel Drift Studios ("we", "us"). This policy explains what FamSync collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the choices you have. It covers the FamSync apps for iPhone and Android and this website.

The short version. Your family's information is shared with your family and the services that run FamSync, and nobody else. We do not sell personal information, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites. Location sharing is off until you turn it on, and you can pause it at any time. You can delete your account inside the app.

What we collect Location Google user data How we use it Who we share it with Children How long we keep it Deleting your account Your rights Security Changes and contact

1. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address and, if you add one, a profile photo. If you sign in with Apple or Google we receive the name and email those services share with us.
  • Family information: your family's name and code, the people in it and their roles, and optional details you add about them, such as birthdays, colours, interests or food preferences. You can add family members who do not have a phone; you are responsible for having their parent's or their own permission to do so.
  • Things you create: calendar events, reminders, lists, groceries, chores, meal plans and votes, board posts and comments, photos you attach, places you save (such as home and school), and messages you send to Foxy, the in-app assistant.
  • Support and feedback: anything you send us by email or through the in-app feedback form.

Information collected when you use FamSync

  • Location, if you turn it on. See Location below.
  • Motion activity, if you allow it: your phone's own signal that you are driving, used on your device to start and stop drive tracking. The raw motion data stays on your device.
  • Device and app data: a push-notification token so we can deliver reminders, your device type and operating system version, app version, time zone and language. On Android, Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics record app usage events and crash reports so we can fix problems. They do not receive the content of your calendar, lists or messages.
  • Purchases: if you subscribe, Apple or Google tells us which plan you have and whether it is active. We never see your card or bank details.

Device features you can choose to connect

  • Phone calendars (Apple Calendar or your Android calendars): read so events can appear on your family calendar, and written to only when you ask FamSync to add an event there.
  • Contacts: used only to help you pick someone to invite. Your contact list is not uploaded.
  • Camera, photos and microphone: used only when you take or attach a photo, scan something, or talk to Foxy. Speech is turned into text by your phone's speech service (Apple or Google).

2. Location

When you turn on location sharing, FamSync collects your device's location, including in the background when the app is closed or not in use. It is used to:

  • show you on your family's private map, with how long you have been somewhere;
  • send arrival and departure alerts for places your family sets up, such as home and school;
  • record drives (route, distance, speed and arrival time) so your family can see you are on the way and when you will get there;
  • estimate drive times to events and power "leave now" reminders.

Your location is shared only with members of your own family in FamSync. You can pause sharing in the app, or turn off location access in your phone's settings, at any time; the rest of FamSync keeps working. We keep your most recent location and your recent drives, not a permanent history of everywhere you have been. When you look up weather or places, an approximate location or the search text is sent to the weather or map service described below.

3. Google user data

You can connect a Google account to FamSync. FamSync asks only for the access a feature needs, only after you choose to connect it, and you can disconnect at any time.

  • Google Calendar, read access (calendar.readonly): FamSync reads the list of your calendars and the events on the calendars you choose, so they appear on your family calendar.
  • Google Calendar, event access (calendar.events): when you turn on adding FamSync events to Google Calendar, FamSync creates, updates and deletes the events it made, on the calendar you pick. It does not change events it did not create.
  • Gmail, read-only (gmail.readonly), only if you connect your inbox to turn emails into events: FamSync lists your recent messages on your device. When you pick one, its text is sent to our AI provider to pull out dates and times, and only the events you choose to keep are saved. FamSync cannot send, change or delete email, and emails are not stored on our servers.

Imported Google Calendar events are saved in your family's FamSync calendar so your family can see them. When you disconnect Google Calendar, FamSync removes the events it imported and stops syncing. You can also remove FamSync's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Limited Use. FamSync's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide the features described above. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, use it to train general-purpose AI or machine-learning models, or transfer it except as needed to provide those features, for security, or to comply with the law. People do not read it unless you ask us to (for example, for support), it is needed for security or to comply with the law, or it is aggregated and anonymised for internal operations.

4. How we use information

  • To run FamSync: keep your family's calendar, lists and map in sync across everyone's devices, and deliver reminders and alerts.
  • To answer you through Foxy, the in-app assistant, using the family information it needs for your request.
  • To provide subscriptions, free trials and offers, and restore purchases.
  • To keep FamSync secure, prevent abuse, and fix crashes and bugs.
  • To reply to support requests and feedback, and to send service messages such as security notices. We do not send marketing email without your permission.

Where the law requires a legal basis (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK), we rely on performing our contract with you, your consent (for location, Google and other permissions you grant, which you can withdraw at any time), our legitimate interests in keeping FamSync secure and working, and legal obligations.

5. Who we share it with

Your family. What you add to your family space, and your location if you share it, is visible to the members of your family.

Service providers that process data for us under contract, only to run FamSync:

  • Google Firebase and Google Cloud (United States): sign-in, database, file storage, push notifications and server functions. Android also uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics.
  • AI providers, Mistral AI and Groq: when you message Foxy, your message and the family details needed to answer it are sent to generate a reply. They process the request and do not use it to train their models. If you choose to connect your own Claude account, those requests go to Anthropic under your account.
  • Maps and weather: Apple Maps (iPhone), Google Maps Platform and OpenStreetMap services (Android) for maps, place search and drive routes, and Open-Meteo for weather and air quality. They receive search text, coordinates or an approximate location, not your name.
  • Apple and Google for in-app purchases and subscriptions.

Services you open yourself. When you use the Groceries tab to fill an Instacart cart, FamSync works inside instacart.com in an in-app browser, signed in to your own Instacart account. Anything you buy is between you and Instacart, and Instacart's privacy policy applies. Links to sites such as Yelp or OpenTable open those sites.

Legal reasons and business transfers. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety of a person, or to protect FamSync and its users from fraud or abuse. If FamSync is sold or merged, information would transfer under this policy and we would tell you.

We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined in California law, and we do not use data brokers.

6. Children

FamSync is for families, so children appear in it. A child under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) may use FamSync only through a family set up by a parent or guardian, who provides any information about the child, such as a name or birthday, and decides whether the child shares location. Parents can review, change or delete a child's information in the app at any time, or ask us to by email. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 without a parent's consent, and we do not use children's information for advertising. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent's consent, contact us and we will delete it.

7. How long we keep it

  • Account and family content: while your account is active. Items you delete are removed from our database straight away.
  • Location: your latest location, and recent drives, until they are replaced, you delete them, you leave the family, or you delete your account.
  • Imported Google Calendar events: until you disconnect Google Calendar or delete them.
  • Crash reports and analytics (Android): kept by Firebase for up to 90 days for crashes and up to 14 months for analytics.
  • Support email: up to 2 years, then deleted.

Residual copies in logs and backups are deleted on their normal schedule, within 30 days.

8. Deleting your account

In the app, open Profile, then Delete account. FamSync removes you from every family, deletes your profile, location and sign-in, and signs you out on that device. Things you added to a shared family space, such as events or list items, stay with that family so it keeps working; you can delete them first, or ask us to remove them.

You can also ask us to delete your account and data without the app by emailing support@hotstreak.info from the email address on your account. We will confirm and finish within 30 days.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, download, or delete your personal information, object to or restrict some uses, and withdraw consent at any time. You can do most of this in the app; for anything else, email us. We will respond within 30 days (45 days where California law allows) and will not treat you differently for using these rights. If you are in the EEA or UK and are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

You can turn off location, notifications, calendars, contacts, camera and microphone access in your phone's settings, and disconnect Google in the app or at your Google account.

10. Security and where data is stored

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited by account and by family, so members of one family cannot see another's information. FamSync's servers are in the United States; if you use FamSync elsewhere, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States, with safeguards such as the standard contractual clauses our providers offer. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your sign-in and family code private and tell us if you think something is wrong.

11. Changes and contact

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
